Here too were depicted the first recorded image of the Americas as a distinct continent, and the first vision of the Far Eastern lands. Theo Fabergé created his NEW WORLD EGG in sterling silver with 18 karat gold, hand spun and polished to perfection. Entirely hand-chased upon it, the Map is laid out in the original configuration; the continents and islands are reproduced faithfully after the 500-year old original. Running rope work to top and base, frames two panels in marine-blue guilloché enamel - the famous technique distinguished by the great Carl - on hand engine-turning.
