The stand, handcrafted from cocobolo wood and styled as a golfer's tee, supports the Egg turned in bubinga wood. The base gilded with 24 karat gold, comprises a pattern of 18 deep cut rings. Within each ring sits a stylised golf ball.
The Egg opens to reveal the surprise, the ultimate achievement, a hole in one. A 24 karat gold plated golf ball sits within the hole, hollowed from the heart of the Egg and detailed with a gallery of vermeil. An Imperial crown of vermeil is set with a cabochon ruby.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/amber-egg

Amber has enthralled us for centuries because of the golden jewel-encrusted Amber Room, which was made of several tons of the gemstone. A gift to Peter the Great in 1716 celebrating peace between Russia and Prussia, the room’s fate became anything but peaceful: Nazis looted it during World War II, and in the final months of the war, the amber panels which had been packed away in crates, disappeared. A replica was completed in 2003, but the contents of the original, dubbed “the Eighth Wonder of the World” have remained missing for decades.

Golden Gift

Construction of the Amber Room began in 1701. It was originally intended to be installed at Charlottenburg Palace, home of Friedrich I, the first King of Prussia. Truly an international collaboration, the room was designed by the court architect of King Friedrich I, Iozander von Geothe and constructed by German and Danish craftsmen. Peter the Great admired the room on a visit, and in 1716 the King of Prussia – then Frederick William I – presented it to Peter as a gift, cementing a Prussian-Russian alliance against Sweden.

The Amber Room was shipped to Russia in 18 large boxes and installed in the Winter House in St Petersburg as part of a European art collection. In 1755 Czarina Elizabeth ordered the room to be moved to the Grand Palace in Tsarskoye Selo or “Czar’s Village.” Italian designer Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli redesigned the room to fit into its new, larger space, adding carvings, paintings, Florentine mosaics and an amber frame shipped from Berlin.

The craftsmen who reconstructed the Amber Room gave the initial inspiration to the Amber Egg. All the design elements of this creation come from the Amber Room. The Amber Egg is crystal adorned with the Imperial Crown with a cabochon ruby.

On opening the Egg a vermeil heart on an easel. Open the heart to reveal red enamelling set with a rose and diamond.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/anichkov-egg

In 1993 Theo Fabergé returned to St Petersburg with a group of his Collectors. It was on a warm sunny day that he walked over and marvelled at the Anichkov Bridge on Nevsky Prospect. This was the first and most famous bridge across the Fontanka River. The current bridge, built in 1841-42 and reconstructed in 1906-1908, combines a simple form with some spectacular decorations. As well as its four famous horse sculptures made in 1849-50, the bridge has some of the most celebrated ornate iron railings. The bridge is mentioned in books by Pushkin, Gogal and Dostoevsky.

The beauty of the bridge inspired Theo Fabergé to create his Anichkov Egg. The Egg crafted in pure gold, sterling silver and cherry red guilloché enamel is supported by the four horse sculptures. The finial of the Imperial Crown is set with a cabochon ruby.

The surprise within, is a sterling silver and pure gold merhorse holding a trident, a design feature from the bridge railings. The base of the surprise is fully hallmarked with Theo Fabergé’s personal mark.

Theo Fabergé the last remaining grandson of Russian Imperial Jeweller Carl Fabergé created the ANNIVERSARY EGG to celebrate the sixty years which have passed since the creation of the modern state of Israel. Since the 1990's Theo always wanted to travel to Israel and had wanted to design an Egg for Israel. He has chosen the Menorah outside the Knesset building as the 'surprise'. In fact he had personally made a beautiful menorah in 1987 using diverse materials including gold pink ivory mammoth ivory and ebony wood.
Theo chose guilloché enamel and precious metal for the ANNIVERSARY EGG, the technique made famous by his grandfather. The Egg is formed in fine silver hand engine-turned and enamelled in the azure blue of the Israeli flag. The finial is the Star of David crafted in silver and 24-karat gold; from its ornamental support are suspended gilded tassels. To the top of the Egg Theo Fabergé applies the Badge of Jerusalem designed by A Koren and chosen as the official symbol of the city on the first of the month of Adar 1950; the lion of Judah appears in front of the wall and an olive branch stands out in relief against the pristine white enamel. To the lower half appear the famous Fabergé swags and bows. The Egg is poised on a base of engine turned silver and gold.

Open the Egg and in the tradition of the Fabergé family the surprise Formed in sterling silver and decorated with 24-karat gold the Menorah designed by Benno Elkan and presented by the British Parliament to stand in front of the Knesset. The Menorah is decorated with 18 brilliant-cut diamonds and is recreated in miniature detail with 7 faceted rubies representing the light of the candles.

Theo Fabergé's ANNIVERSARY EGG is an eloquent testimony to the world's applause for the endurance of the State of Israel and its fine craftsmanship and exquisite design bear witness to mankind's lasting aspiration for beauty and truth.

Presentation in golden carriage-case.

One of Theo Fabergé's greatest loves was his garden. Consequently he designed a series of Eggs with this theme. In particular his favourite flowers were Orchids, Roses and the more exotic, Bird of Paradise flower. This became part of a mini-series: The Red Rose Egg, The Pink Orchid Egg and finally now the Bird of Paradise Egg.

The Bird of paradise Egg is created in deep luxuriant purple guilloche enamel over sterling silver and pure 24 carat gold. The egg is surmounted with a Romanov crown set with a cabochon ruby. The ruby being Theo's favourite gemstone. To the front of the Egg is a pair of loving birds of paradise parading with each other. The birds are standing on golden branches with green enamel leaves. To the lower part of the egg are swags intertwined with tropical forest vines, again the leaves are in green enamel. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Fabergé's Holtzapffel lathe from 1860 and is further engraved underneath with Theo Fabergé's name and the serial number of the creation.

The surprise, resting within crushed purple velvet, is a Purple Heart wood flower pot decorated with vines and filled with a Bird of Paradise plant in full enamel colours. The soil of the pot is engine turned in sterling silver and gold. The pot is further embellished with a gold band bearing the full hallmark including Theo Fabergé's personal mark.

The priceless Waldseemüller Map of 1507 housed in the United States Library of Congress, incorporated for the first time those four magic syllables that have become synonymous with the promise of liberty and justice. Here too was depicted the first recorded image of the Americas as a distinct continent, and the first approximation of the Far East lands. Thus was born a New World, driven by opportunity as well as commerce from East-West trade.

Theo Fabergé has created in bronze, the two great explorers whose fearless voyages contributed to the Waldseemüller Map - Amerigo Vespucci and Vasco da Gama. Dressed in the robes and Christian jewellery of their epoch, they stand heroically posed on a symbolic log-book, its page indicated with a golden marker bearing Fabergé swags and set with a brilliant diamond. With one hand, they hold the drawing-instruments and scrolls of their vocation; with the other they support aloft the golden Egg upon which is represented the Map.

The Egg is crafted in 18-karat gold, hand spun and polished to perfection. Entirely hand engraved upon it, the Map is laid out in the first century Ptolemaic system. Each continent and island is reproduced in painstaking loyalty to the 500-year old original. Running ropework in white gold, frames two panels of symbolic clouds. The finial is modelled after two heraldic cartographers’ dolphins, their faces modelled after the major winds shown on the Map.

Open the Egg, to reveal the surprise; a model of Vasco da Gama’s great flagship the San Gabriel in sterling silver and 18-carat gold, upon a base engine-turned in mimicry of the ocean waves. Lift up the ship and see a final detail; in the Fabergé family tradition, Theo has placed a perfect miniature of a 16th century mariner’s quadrant in silk and copper, to guide the explorers of yesteryear as well as today’s collectors, on their voyages.

Theo Fabergé’s BIRTH OF THE NEW WORLD EGG is a wondrous tribute to the America of 500 years ago and of today. This is the apogee of craftsmanship and valuable design in the 21st century.

The Brotherhood Egg reminds us not only of Father Flanagan's great achievements and those of Boys Town, but also of our obligations to our fellow men, women and especially to our children. The outside of the Egg is inspired by Dowd Chapel at Boys Town, dedicated to Father Flanagan's memory. The surprise is the uplifting symbol of Boys Town, the statue of Two Brothers, created in vermeil.

The vermeil base of ornamental grass design and panelling of bubinga wood are detailed with the double headed eagle of, both conceal the musical box, hidden within.

Theo Fabergé worked on perfecting his Carousel Egg for many years and was particularly inspired during his many visits to the United States. This creation captures the essence of carousel art as perfected in the American amusements made between 1860 and the late 1920s. Immigrant craftsmen brought their skills to their new home and expanded on a popular ride for both children and adults that had existed on the Continent since the early 1700s. American figures are more elaborate than European, in particular their horses having tossed manes, animated bodies and expressive eyes as identifying hallmarks.

This sterling silver, 18 carat gold and enamel Egg, is a first in having two colours of brilliant enamel on the shell, both royal blue and cherry red guilloché enamel. The finial, the Romanov Crown, is set with a cabochon ruby. The decoration on the outside of the Egg is taken from design themes from working antique carousels.

On opening the Egg, the surprise, a working carousel embellished with Theo’s favourite engine turning. Upon being wound, as the carousel rotates, it horses rise and descend to the music of the Carousel Waltz by Chopin. The three distinctive American styles are represented in Theo’s lavishly hand-painted enamelled horses: the Philadelphia, the Coney Island and Country Fair.

Each creation is numbered and bears Theo Fabergé’s hallmark. Presentation in a golden carriage-case with limited edition certificate.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/firebird-passion-egg

The story of the Firebird goes back to the folk tales of old. Some say that the Firebird flies down from the Tsar’s castle and eats his golden apples; the Tsar’s three sons try to catch the bird, but find only a feather ’ but it glows in the night, illuminating the castle room and lightening their hearts. Theo Fabergé’s Firebird Passion is created in sterling silver, 18 karat gold and guilloché enamelled in rich red, the enamelling process exactly as beloved by Theo’s grandfather Carl Fabergé. The finial and surrounding ornamentation mimic the fabled feather, the same motif being employed to support the Egg atop its pedestal.
Theo’s fancy takes him to another variant of the myth, which says that as the Firebird flies his eyes sparkle and pearls, descending from his beak, fall into the hands of serfs who are thus able to make their way in life. The Egg and pedestal are ornamented with exquisite cultured full pearls.

Open the Egg, and in the tradition of the Fabergé family behold the surprise within. The Firebird, hand-crafted, stands on the apple-tree branch created in sterling silver and 18 karat gold, its blossom hand-decorated and set with diamonds. The Firebird’s magnificent plumage descends in luxuriant swathes over the branches. His tail and body are crafted in yellow 18-karat gold set with rare red sapphires and offset with differing shades of blue sapphire. The bird’s wings bear carat-weights of full-cut white diamonds, and his eyes and crest are cleverly rendered in precious red and pink sapphire. The Firebird may be removed from the Egg and worn as a brooch. Its tail may be detached and worn as a pendant. The iridescent Firebird is reputed to have magical properties and to act both as saviour and devil, to anyone who catches it. Theo Fabergé’s Firebird Passion further imbues the viewer with wonder at the enduring story, and with pure pleasure at a triumph in design and craftsmanship.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/passion-creations/gold-rush-egg

Theo Fabergé, only living grandson of Russian Imperial Jeweller Carl Fabergé, has created the GOLD RUSH EGG in celebration of the pioneers who came to California in the years following 1849, and created both the legend and the wealth of the Californian gold rush. He pays tribute too, to the brave men and women who found the precious metal he has worked in for so many years.
The Californian bear stands erect and fearsome in his role as guardian of the natural treasures of the Golden State. The bear presides over the images, hand-engraved on 18 karat yellow gold, of the Clipper arriving in harbour at San Francisco bearing its cargo of Forty-Niners after the treacherous voyage round Cape Horn. To the reverse, the Conestoga wagon with its families of prospectors making their arduous journey for the promise of gold.

Theo Fabergé places the Sierra Nevada mountains at the centre of his GOLD RUSH EGG, snow-capped over their red-gold flanks. At their foot flows and falls the Sacremento River in white gold, and on its banks we see the miner seeking his treasure from the American River. To the reverse, a pair of hand-engraved scales are poised on the solid gold egg-shell, ready for the day when his patience and labour are rewarded.

A sifting-pan bears miniature pairs of pick-axe, shovel and woodman’s axes, over a pedestal around which Theo places the heroes of the Gold Rush. The prospector rests for a while next his pack-mule, laden with tools; a business man contemplates the risks and potential of his venture - and its fruits; and Theo depicts the girl in the saloon-bar, the miner’s sweet solace after weeks of lonely labour ’ Clementine’s little sister?

Open the Egg to view the surprise; a hand modelled water-wheel rotates as it carries the ore-bearing white-gold water to the red-gold Chinaman tending his Long Tom. And in the family tradition, Theo reserves his last discovery. A perfect miniature of the central pedestal of the GOLD RUSH EGG presents an original nugget of Californian gold: the journey, the privation, the labour, the dream - all yield their reward to the inheritors of this proud American tradition as they face the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.

Theo Faberge’s trips to the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, and in particular in 1993, always stimulated his design concepts, and inspired him to design an egg to be used for the 250th Anniversary of the Hermitage Museum.

The pale blue guilloché enamelled egg reflecting the River Neva that flows past the Hermitage, is held aloft by three Atlas statues, just like the portico to the Little Hermitage. Two of the Atlas statues can be seen from any direction. The Egg is offset with the Romanov crown inset with a cabochon ruby. To the front of the egg is the monogram and cypher of Catherine the Great, set with diamonds, while on the reverse is the double headed eagle.

The surprise on opening the egg, Catherine the Great’s Coronation Coach in silver, gold, enamel and diamonds. This surprise follows Theo’s Celebration Egg created in 2001 with the surprise within of the English Coronation Coach.

In the 17th century, British sailors discovered Imari, a port in Japan that created very fine porcelain. Imari used rich colourings including gold to enhance the most exotic subjects depicting the Japanese culture. The Imari Egg is Theo's own interpretation of this early Japanese porcelain. Each Egg is entirely hand painted onto rich cobalt blue porcelain. The Egg opens to reveal a magnificent sterling silver Pagoda and Japanese Temple embellished with gold. The inspiration came from Theo Fabergé's fond memories, especially those of his childhood. The Egg is offset with the Imperial Crown in vermeil set with a cabochon ruby.

Theo Fabergé’s IMPERIAL FRAME is created in the magnificent tradition of picture frames originated by his grandfather Carl Fabergé, warrant holder to the royal Court.
Inspired by a passion for the architecture and environment of the former capital city, Theo chose Karelian Birch for his creation. This rare and unique wood is found only in the Gulf of Finland and the surrounding area through which St Petersburg’s River Neva flows, and is distinguished by a creamy white grain with contrasting brown flecks.

The wood bears a hallmarked silver and gold plaque, double engine-turned and enamelled in azure blue. To the centre, the famed double-headed eagles of the Romanov dynasty. To left and right, vermeil cherubs announce their message of tribute and affection.

Theo Fabergé’s IMPERIAL FRAME is a tribute to fine craftsmanship, in the achievement of artistic and decorative accessories.

Theo Fabergé’s New Patriot Egg celebrates a City and Nation, which triumph over the adversity of September 11, 2001.

The New Patriot Egg stands on a base of nero portero Carrera marble. Hand wrought and bronze, the pentagon and pedestal unite the new heroes of Ground Zero – the policeman, a construction worker, the New York fireman, an armed Special Forces combatant, and an Emergency Medical Services operative. Above them, one of the two cityscapes of New York poignantly omits the Twin Towers.

From the city, the flames of the World Trade Centre are hand raised and chased in 18 karat yellow gold and in red gold. The yellow gold Egg above, is hand engraved with the 50 stars of the United States; and the Eagle of Justice is sculpted in multi-coloured, solid gold, its eyes brilliant rubies.

Open the Egg and Ground Zero is portrayed, its wreckage relieved by a pristine American flag, hand-engraved and bright polished - all in 18 karat white gold. Theo’s final surprise is the hand-carved model of the Tomb of the Unknowns, sculpted in statuary marble.

Theo Fabergé depicts Americans of the 21st Century, willing to pay the ultimate price to preserve the freedom of the nation and their fellow-citizens. This remarkable objet d’art commemorates the world’s tribute to our New Patriots.

Theo Fabergé always appreciated the regard borne towards him and his family by his collectors in USA. This year 2007 was the 500th anniversary of the first occurrence of the word 'America'. The priceless Waldseemüller Map of 1507, now housed in the United States Library of Congress, incorporated for the first time those four magic syllables that have become synonymous with liberty and justice. Here too were depicted the first recorded image of the Americas as a distinct continent, and the first vision of the Far Eastern lands. We witness the discovery of the new worlds to the East and to the West of Europe, driven by fascinated opportunity and by the prospect of commerce.
Theo Fabergé created his NEW WORLD EGG in sterling silver with 18 karat gold, hand spun and polished to perfection. Entirely hand-chased upon it, the Map is laid out in the original configuration; the continents and islands are reproduced faithfully after the 500-year old original. Running rope work to top and base, frames two panels in marine-blue guilloché enamel - the famous technique distinguished by the great Carl - on hand engine-turning.

The red and white clown fish has discovered treasure, a faceted ruby, lifted out of the sand by the swirling current on the seabed.
Looking through the Egg, a shy Sea Horse can be seen hidden amongst the swaying leaves.

The Egg is offset with the Imperial Russian Crown in vermeil with a cabochon ruby and stands on an ornamentally turned 18 karat gilded decorative base.

The Odessa Egg completes the series of four creations by Theo Fabergé inspired by the magnificent architecture of the four great cities of former Russia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev and Odessa, where Carl Fabergé had his shops and workshops. The Odessa Egg, portraying the Hero City as it was known in Russia, is stylised with an adaptation of the Potemkin Steps. The Russian double headed eagle looks to both the continents of Europe and Asia.
The sterling silver Egg, with 18 karat gold is surmounted with the Imperial Crown and detailed with crossed anchors.

Within the Egg, a miniature vermeil screen enhanced with naval images. Within the screen, the hand woven silk brocade of the Russian double headed eagle.

The Peter the Great Egg is presented in rich Romanov-red, hand engine-turned in a pattern representing the waves on the River Neva, and guilloché enamelled. In 18 karat gold on hallmarked sterling silver, the top is adorned with the sea-gryphons found on the City's magnificent Admiralty Building. To the rear, in vermeil, appear the eagles of the Czars, their double-heads symbolising Russia's conjuncture between Europe and Asia.
The Finial is the Russian Imperial Crown in vermeil set with a cabochon ruby. The base bears raised anchors, interpolating the distinctive Fabergé swags. Theo's Holtzapffel lathe, dating from 1861, crafts the ornamentally-turned foot upon which the creation stands.

In the family tradition, there is a surprise within the Egg; the statue of Peter the Great on his galloping stallion, rearing to crush the snake of evil, poised atop the granite block to the fore of the Senate Building. Modelled in sterling silver throughout, and bearing a patina to resemble Etienne Falconet's original, they stand on a hand-turned decorated base.

Hand painted and sculptured in fine bone china in relief, the front is taken from a 19th century painting of the façade of the Great Palace. The Neptune Fountain, within the upper gardens of the Parks is featured upon the reverse with three mythical golden dolphins supporting the Egg.
The Peterhof Egg is surmounted with the dome of the church of St Peter and St Paul created in vermeil.

Within, a replica in sterling silver and gold of the Throne Room of the Great Palace, detailed with the portrait of Catherine the Great hanging behind the throne.

The story, hand painted on fine English bone china, is depicted through four panels consisting of anxiety, tranquillity, hope and fulfilment. The Egg opens to reveal the sterling silver phoenix, set with sapphire eyes, rising defiantly from the vermeil flames.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/pink-orchid-egg

Theo Fabergé loved the Orchid, above all other flowers. Inspired by its eternal beauty and furthering his famous grandfather Carl Fabergé's love of flower surprises, Theo's PINK ORCHID EGG allows nature and craftsmanship to combine in an eloquent testimonial to his art.
The creation incorporates the materials and skills made famous by the Fabergé's at the Imperial Court of St Petersburg at the turn of the last century. The PINK ORCHID EGG is engine-turned and guilloché enamelled in pristine white. Sterling silver orchid sprays, decorated with 18 karat gold and hand-enamelled in pink, adorn the upper sides of the Egg. The lower half is offset with further sprays of enamel, gold and silver, with the famous Fabergé swags formed in stylised orchid leaves and bearing eight full-cut diamonds - one for each of Theo's eight decades. The finial, set with a cabochon ruby, represents the Romanov State Crown. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Fabergé's own Holzapffel lathe.

The surprise within is a classic jardiniére, hand-carved in ebony and holding an orchid in bud and in bloom; the jardiniére may be lifted out for display adjacent to the closed Egg, and bears the full hallmark. Further orchid sprays lie on the surrounding velvet floor, one set with a faceted white diamond.

The PINK ORCHID EGG is the second in Theo's Flower series, the first being the Poppy Egg. The PINK ORCHID EGG pursues a family tradition of objets d'art, and its individual presentation assures the enhancement of every beautiful dwelling-place.

Each creation is numbered and bears Theo Fabergé's signature. Presentation in Golden Carriage-case

Inspired by the significance of the poppy as a remembrance and Carl Fabergé's love of flower surprises, Theo Fabergé designed his Poppy Egg to follow the family traditions but within his own style.
Theo designed beautiful creations for six decades and used six cut white diamonds in the poppy seed pods which is part of the decoration on the outside of the traditionally enamelled Egg.

The Egg is made using materials and techniques made famous by the Fabergé family. The Egg is engine turned and then guilloché enamelled in deep cherry red - probably one of the most difficult enamel colours to achieve. The base, turned on Theo Fabergé's Holzapffel lathe, has stylised interlocking poppies.

The surprise within is a flower pot with a poppy in bud and flower. The enamelled poppy is set with a full cut black diamond in the stamen. The flowerpot, engine turned, lifts out as a separate creation and bears the full hallmark.

Theo Fabergé designed his RED ADMIRAL EGG as a token to the beauty and fragility of nature. He was inspired by the significance of the butterfly and by Carl Fabergé's love of flower surprises, thus following the family tradition but within his own style.
The Egg is made using materials and techniques made famous by the Fabergé family. The RED ADMIRAL EGG is engine turned and then guilloché enamelled in rich red, one of the most difficult and individual enamel colours to achieve. The exterior surfaces are ornamented in silver and gold with the leaves and seed pods of an exquisite passion flower. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Fabergé's holzapffel lathe dating from 1862. The finial is the Imperial Crown of the Romanov dynasty, set with a cabochon ruby.

Open the Egg to reveal the surprise; a red admiral butterfly fashioned in gold and silver, its wings hand enamelled and set with ten sparkling diamonds, settles on a passion flower enamelled in purple and cream. The flower's support is engine turned and the bowl ornamented with leaves enamelled in vibrant green, standing on a plinth bearing the full British hallmark.

Each creation is numbered and bears Theo Fabergé's name.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/red-rose-egg

Theo Fabergé designed his RED ROSE EGG as a part of a small series of eggs featuring his favourite flowers. The design is inspired by his and by Carl Fabergé ’s love of flower surprises, thus following the family tradition but within his own style.
The Egg is created using materials and techniques made famous by the Fabergé family. The RED ROSE EGG is engine turned and then guilloché enamelled in rich red, one of the most difficult and individual enamel colours to achieve. The exterior surfaces are ornamented in gold, sterling silver and green enamel. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo Fabergé’s Holtzappfel lathe dating from 1861. The finial is the Imperial Crown of the Romanov dynasty, set with a cabochon ruby.

Open the Egg to reveal the surprise; a rose tree in full flower fashioned in gold, silver and red and green enamel. The rose tree flourishes in a planter of bubinga wood surrounded with gold and silver and green enamel. Within the rose flowers are 10 diamonds sparkling in the sunlight.

Each creation is numbered and bears Theo Fabergé’s name. Presentation in a golden carriage-case with limited edition certificate.

In 1913 Tsar Nicholas II presented his wife, the Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, the Romanov Tercentenary Egg designed and made by Carl Fabergé. This Easter gift was presented on 14th April 1913.

For 2013 Theo Fabergé, grandson of Carl Fabergé, has designed the Romanov Quadricentenary Egg which will be presented to the City of St Petersburg.

The theme of the Egg is the quadricentenary of the House of Romanov, which had been founded by Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov in 1613.

This Egg with 18 miniature decorations, celebrating the 18 Romanov Tsars, is created in solid sterling silver with sapphire blue royal guilloché enamel and hard gold plated with 18 karat gold. The finial of the Egg is the double-headed Romanov eagle, but in fact a triple-headed eagle, so that from which ever angled viewed the double-headed eagle is visible. The base, ornamentally turned on Theo Fabergé’s Holtzapfel lathe from 1860, again celebrates the 18 Romanov Tsars with 18 deep cuts and covered with pure 18 karat gold.

The surprise within, the Romanov Griffen in sterling silver and 18 karat gold. The Griffen with sapphire eyes can be removed and displayed outside of the Egg.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/russian-cathedral-egg-2

In 1988 Theo Fabergé designed his St Vladimir Egg in celebration of the millennial anniversary of Russian Orthodox Christianity. The St Vladimir Egg 1988 presented the scaled re-creation of St Vladimir’s Cathedral, which stands on the site where the first orthodox baptism in Russia took place in the year 988 AD, in Kiev. The Egg raised money for the Russian Orthodox Church in the USA whose members and supporters welcomed the creation with gratitude and enthusiasm. The edition sold out swiftly and raised a substantial sum for the delighted beneficiary.

Today we celebrate the new reunification whereby the Russian Orthodox Church in Russia is reconciled with its associate churches in other countries and continents. Thus, the RUSSIAN CATHEDRAL EGG is created. The design remains faithful to Theo Fabergé’s original concept of 21 years ago with the additional benefits of royal blue overlay to the crystal – the colour decorating many of the domes adorning the thousands of Orthodox churches established since 1990, and others restored throughout the world. The lead crystal of Russian Cathedral Egg is mouth-blown, and hand-cut. Raised gold decorates the enamel work. The creation’s finial is the enduring image of a Russian orthodox cross.

Open the Egg, and the surprise: an exquisitely detailed model of the Kiev Cathedral, executed with a 18 karat gold finish on hallmarked sterling silver.

The RUSSIAN CATHEDRAL EGG by Theo Fabergé allies enduring craftsmanship, with the lasting values of reconciliation and faith.

The exterior of the crystal Egg has been hand etched and enamelled to depict the exterior of the Treasury Building. Where else would one expect to find the world's richest self-made duck, but wallowing in the gold and treasure within the heart of the Treasury at midnight. This humorous scene has been created from sterling silver, gold, enamel and precious stones.

Theo Fabergé's love of the sea is celebrated in this second in the series, which originated with Millennium Fountain (2000). The porcelain Egg in deep marine blue is surmounted by diamonds and encrusted with vermeil shells set with blue topaz, pink tourmaline, yellow citrene and pearls. Entwined seahorses with sparkling ruby eyes swim among enamel flowing sea flora.
The surprise within - flowing with a cornucopia of pearls, a nautilus shell. The entrance to the shell is guarded by the King of the Oceans; Neptune, with his full regalia, trident in one hand and a roped miniature Egg in the other. The surprise under the sea is a further cluster of shells arranged as a separate object for display.

Oak trees specially planted by Peter the Great for building the Russian fleet are now being used to build an exact replica of his ship, The Shtandart. This inspired Theo Fabergé to design the Shtandart Egg, a creation that captures the magnificence of this ship, commemorating the 300th Anniversary of Peter the Great's visit to Great Britain. Hand turned from oak, the exterior of the Egg is decorated with fine vermeil rope and detailed with the ship's wheel and anchor.
Open the Egg to reveal the surprise within, the essential navigation apparatus, a compass, to guide the Shtandart on her maiden voyage.

This magnificent scientific timepiece has been hewn from the earth's generous resources of steel, tempered to blued perfection by engineers, regulated by the patient horologist, moulded in the heat of the glass furnace, and finely decorated in gold and diamonds by the artist goldsmith.

The result, a classic instrument standing 380mm high bearing the twelve constellations of our star signs in harmony with the constant Greenwich meantime, which can be regulated to any earthly co-ordinate, enabling the user to determine the stars and time at a glance.

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword' -Theo Fabergé's creative spirit at the moment of his Eightieth Birthday, applauds the spirit of positive communication that lies behind the old dictum.
His Signature Egg is a wonderful gift and desk ornament, crafted in french-polished Bubinga Wood and adorned with the ornamental turning for which he is justly renowned. Inlaid within the wood, seven circles represent the continents of the world. Decorated with 18 karat gold and surmounted with a cabochon ruby, in the Fabergé family tradition the Signature Egg holds a surprise - the pen, turned on Theo's Holtzappfel lathe dating from 1862. Drawn magically from the centre of the Egg, it arms the proud owner with the vocabulary of wisdom and culture.

Theo Fabergé's TRILOGY JEWEL BOX is crafted in makah burl, with luxuriously lined jewel compartments. The burl wood grows on a makah tree, and its irregular nature allows it to exhibit a strong, decorative grain. Expertly cut, joined and polished it is interspersed here with panels of hand-painted fine bone-china.
The art of ceramic hand-painting is one of refined dedication, involving the application of colours which look entirely different in their initial state, to how they appear after being high-fired into the ceramic glaze. Here our artist depicts on the cover of the Jewel Box a still life incorporating a pineapple, a succulent peach, a bunch of grapes and a thrush's nest full of eggs.

Open the box, and your surprise is revealed on three hand-decorated panels; an opportunist mouse eats the grapes, the thrush eats the pink peach and a crafty lizard steals the eggs!

The three scenes explain our title 'Trilogy', and one of the eggs bears Theo Fabergé's personal monogram. Your individual key and silken tassel secure this gem of artistry allied with the rare, polished burl - a perfect adornment for a special gift, representing the opportunities of life.

The vermeil tree is abundant with flowering hand enamelled leaves gilded on to the exterior of the lead crystal Egg, symbolising the sanctuary of the earth's forests. Within the Egg, an exotic parrot made of zoisite, with a yellow jasper beak and cabochon ruby eyes is perched in the branches of the tree. The bird symbolises the majesty of earth's wildlife, also its vulnerability. The Egg can be removed to reveal the parrot sitting in the bare tree, serving as a warning to the possible plight of nature at the hands of humans.

As we approach the year 2010 we prepare to celebrate the tercentenary of the foundation of this imperial idyll just outside the former Russian capital.

The crystal for the Clock is mouth-blown in amber crystal. To the base are applied two Russian Imperial Eagles and a miniature crown from the Romanov Dynasty. To the centre, a clock, its face embellished with Theo Fabergé’s signature and surrounded by armorial decorations derived from a panel in the Amber Room in Peterhof. To the reverse, a replica Prussian coat of arms also originally created in Baltic amber. To the top, Tsar Nicholas 11 in officers’ uniform, on horseback and faithfully modelled in gold and silver.

The Tsars’ Village Treasure will raise funds for the restoration of the Tsars’ Village and in particular of Alexander Palace.

Theo Fabergé’s creation is an enduring tribute to the magnificent Romanov Village and to the culture, which created it. 300 years after the foundation of Tsarskoye Selo, this echo of history and culture is expressed in timeless style, and rendered by Theo Fabergé whose illustrious grandfather Carl held the warrant for the Imperial Court and created the most fabulous objets d’art and jewellery in the history of the civilised world.

Theo designed the Tsarskoye Selo Egg to celebrate the establishment of this most beautiful of architectural and domestic creations ’ the Tsars’ Village, just outside St Petersburg. As we approach the year 2010 we prepare to celebrate the tercentenary of the foundation of this imperial idyll just outside the former Russian capital.

The crystal Egg is mouth-blown and hand-engraved with images of the Royal Russian family at the principal palaces in Tsarskoye Selo. To the front, Tsar Nicholas II is pictured with the Tsarina Alexandra in front of the Alexander Palace. The five children of the last Tsar and Tsarina are shown playing snowball in front of the Little Hermitage in the gardens of Catherine’s Palace. The final cartouche is that of Catherine’s Palace itself. Three glorious palace gates are ornamented to include the subtle differentiation of pedestal and ornament created by the original architects and craftsmen in wrought-iron. The superb hand-engraving continues in ornamental tassels enamelled with 24 karat gold, descending from the finial of a triple-headed eagle fashioned in gold and silver. Engraved to the girdle of the Egg, the monograms of all the Tsars who lived in Tsarskoye Selo. The fluted gold and silver base is set on a foot mouth-blown in fine crystal and fashioned to resemble lapis lazuli.

In the tradition of the Fabergé family, open the Egg to reveal the surprise; Tsar Nicholas II last Emperor of all the Russias, on horseback. Nicholas is modelled in gold and silver after an oil-painting whose original was acquired by the friends of St Petersburg Collection and returned to Alexander Palace a decade ago.

The Tsarskoye Selo Egg will raise funds for the restoration of the Tsars’ Village and in particular of Alexander Palace.

Theo Fabergé, only living grandson of Russian Imperial Jeweller Carl Fabergé, has created the VICTORY EGG in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the triumphant close of World War II, and in tribute to our leaders and servicemen.
Theo chose as his finial, the Eagle of Justice. Also in sterling silver and 18 karat gold, the Egg itself is offset to the front with a model of Iwo Jima. To the side, entirely hand engraved, General Dwight D Eisenhower supreme Allied Commander for Europe, and General Douglas MacArthur Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Southwest Pacific. To the obverse, the engraver’s art depicts paratroopers’ airborne landing on D-Day. To the base of the Egg are hand-crafted emblems of the three armed services ’ the official badge of the Navy Amphibious Unit; the sea-horses of the Fifth Marines; and the emblem of 'Old Ironsides' ’ the First Armored Corps.

On the pedestal, Theo has placed three panels in guilloché enamel on sterling silver. The Navy is represented by the Pennsylvania; the Airforce, by three Avengers and the Army is depicted by the 60th Infantry Regiment advancing in a European town.

Open the Egg, to view the surprise; miniatures of Stalin and Churchill turn to President Roosevelt at the famous Yalta conference.

The 'Wassail Bowl' was a 16th century forerunner of the cocktail mixer, when the drink, probably mead, was seasoned with spices, which were contained in the knob of the cover. Theo Fabergé's creation is made from 30% hand cut and hand painted lead crystal and, naturally, contains a surprise element - lift the vermeil Imperial Crown to reveal an engine turned champagne swizzle stick.
The Wassail Bowl is signed by Theo Fabergé and is exclusive being one of only 125 pieces worldwide.

https://stpetersburgcollection.com/theo-faberge-creations/egg-creations/white-house-200th-anniversary-egg

The WHITE HOUSE 200th Anniversary Egg commemorates the bicentennial of the original President's House, a symbol of American freedom and democracy. The second President, John Adams, moved into the first official palatial White House in Washington, DC on November 1, 1800. The next day, he penned his famous benediction, quoted on this hand-painted porcelain egg.
The front of the egg is embellished with full-colour, base-relief depiction of the Great Seal of the United States framed by portraits of John and Abigail Adams on each side. The egg is crowned with majestic American eagle in sterling silver and 18 karat gold. The eyes of the eagle are embellished with diamonds; the right eye of a white diamond views the olive branch of peace while the left eye of a black diamond looks towards the sheath of war arrows in its left talon. The egg is accented with four American flags from 1977, 1800, 1912-1959 and the current flag.

In the Faberge tradition, the egg opens to reveal the surprise of a miniature White House in sterling silver and 18 karat gold, set upon a base marking the historic dates of 1800 and the bicentennial year 2000.

Made of cobalt blue and clear crystal, it is set with the Imperial Crown of Russia. Delicate bows and holly decorate the Egg, which opens to reveal a music box that plays 'Silent Night'. The sterling silver base is engine turned in a starburst pattern. The vermeil crown inside winds up the mechanism and turns with the music. A cabochon ruby operates the miniature mechanism.
